About your Hunt

At West Highland Hunting, we pride ourselves in offering you, the customer, a fully supported hunt. We can arrange every element of your hunt ensuring that all your aspirations are met and that you have a single point of contact with whom to discuss every detail.

The team is led by Niall Rowantree who has over 40 years personal experience of guiding hunts throughout the UK. All the hunts offered are either guided by us or we have first hand experience of the venue and guides. As passionate hunters, we have been fortunate enough to hunt throughout the world and are fully aware of all the ingredients required to ensure a successful hunt and a memorable holiday.

We only support and offer ethical, sustainable hunting that feeds resources into nature conservation and ensures important income to fragile rural communities wherever we are in the world.

Guides leading hunts with us will look to meet your requirements in line with your physical capabilities and select appropriate animals in line with your booking and what is best for the herd.

All guides have training in basic first aid and carry water and first aid equipment but it is essential that you inform us of any physical ailments.

Preparation of trophies are included in the services that we offer up to basic field preparation, skinning and caping. Skulls are boiled for onward shipping/export.

We arrange your firearms permits or offer weapons hire whichever is most convenient and all our senior guides are equipped with the latest Blaser rifles and optics in a range of calibres. Weapons are moderated but your own hearing protection should always be taken into consideration.

Transport during the hunt is included in the package price but additional transfers can be arranged for additional sightseeing or airport connections.

Clothing is best suited by being multi-layered with an outer gortex shell when hunting in Scotland as occasionally it is known to rain! Whichever member of the team is your point of contact, can offer further advice by either email or telephone.
